Over a one-year period, this tool will enable the on-site administrator to measure improvement in their facility’s administrative operations, as well as improve the skills of key management personnel. The assessment tool is designed to reliably measure center-based leadership and management practices that focus on organization-wide administrative issues such as:
- Leadership functions – clarifying and affirming values, articulate business plans, set goals, and develop a course of action to meet those goals over time.
- Management functions – developing and/or enhancing systems for carrying out strategies and tasks designed to achieving the organization’s mission.
A two-day training in using the Program Administration Scale (PAS) will be provided. Each Participant will receive a stipend to help cover the cost of their travel and time while participating in the training. The child care center staff training is equivalent to 12 clock hours; and a certificate will also be provided to each participant. The applicant child care facility must be in good standing; have a 2 year work record; be participating in the Child Care Credential Program; and have accreditation from MSDE or a recognized authority.
