Maryland Social Emotional Foundations For Early Learning:
Four Intensive Days

July 6 and 7, 2011
The Maryland Early Childhood Mental Health Steering Committee and the national Center on the Social and Emotional Foundations for Early Learning (CSEFEL) are offering a unique training opportunity focused on promoting children's social emotional competence and preventing and addressing challenging behaviors. The materials that will be used for this training were developed by CSEFEL in direct response to suggestions from program administrators, T/TA providers, early educators, and family members about the types and content of training that would be most useful in addressing the social emotional needs of all young chidren birth to five years old. The content of the training reflects a commitment to promoting social emontional development in all young children but recognizes the need for more intensive interventions when children have significant social emotional needs and challenging behavior. The importance of working with families and building teams will be woven throughout four primary content areas related to supporting children's social emotional development. Participation in this training is extremely limited, and an application packet must be completed and returned for consideration to Maryland Family Network.
