Keynote Speaker: Barbara Kaiser, co-author of Challenging Behavior in Young Children.

Keynote Address: Parents as Partners
Creating a cooperative relationship between families and teachers can be difficult when there is a child with challenging behavior in the group. Whether it is the family of the child or the families of the other children, open, caring and clear communication is necessary. This keynote will help families and teachers to better understand each other and learn ways to communicate effectively that will enable them to work together as a team.

Workshop: Prevention is the best Intervention
Challenging behavior can be prevented when parents and teachers understand the causes and create a responsive and caring environment both at home and at school. This workshop applies research to practice, investigates biological and environmental risk factors, the role of the brain and helps teachers and parents take a closer look at how they can be pro-active instead of reactive.
