Child(ren) with a Disability

The payment rate for a child with a disability in a family child care home or a child care center is the same as above except when the service provider provides documentation to the local department of social services that the cost of caring for the child with a disability exceeds the reasonable accommodation provisions of the Americans with Disabilities Act. In such cases, the local department will approve the additional cost up to 15% above the rates stated. If the requested cost exceeds 15%, the local department will submit a recommendation to the Child Care Administration for approval of a higher payment.

No co-payment is assessed for subsequent children in a family who are the oldest children in the family and receiving POC services.

Note: A family using informal care must pay a co-payment amount which is equal to the amount produced by multiplying the appropriate percentage from the table by the informal care weekly rate in the jurisdiction where the informal/in-home care is provided. The weekly rate for informal/in-home care varies in each of the jurisdictions.
